Shalom! I apologize for not writing lately. Since I last checked in, Baruch and I met up in Miami, where he spoke at a congregation Wednesday night, we had a meeting at another congregation on Thursday and we visited a very special Messianic congregation, where Baruch taught on Friday evening and two sessions on Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many people we have known for many years.
Today we were at Seed of Abraham Fellowship, where Baruch taught at both services. We have been at the airport in Orlando for several hours. Our flight to New York City has been delayed due to severe weather up north. We are hoping to fly out tonight.
I plan to write much more tomorrow. Blessings!
So excited to be in the States. Wanted to let those of you who live in South Florida know that Baruch will be speaking this Wednesday night, October 25, at Granada Presbyterian in Coral Gables, FL. The service will begin at 6:30pm. If you are in the area, we’d love to see you there !
I have been in Illinois and Indiana visiting our families and dealing with the realization of aging parents. Since we don’t get to visit our parents very often, we see big changes when we do get together.
We are very excited about this trip, as it is serving many different functions. We are going to a conference (other than our own), speaking opportunities, pre-appointed times for sharing the Gospel, and concluding with our Eighth Annual LoveIsrael.org Conference in Orlando. It looks to be a busy trip. Baruch flies in tomorrow, and I fly to Florida to meet him, so I would ask for traveling safety.
Now for another peek at what is in store for those who attend our conference:
8:40 pm – 9:30 pm Session II: Messiah and the Jewish People (Out of Egypt I Called
My Son) Text: Matthew 2:15
Baruch recently did an unannounced Livestream on Youtube! I’ve included it below so you can watch it.
Have a blessed day!
Fall views in Cluj, Romania yesterday.
Yesterday was a productive day, as Baruch taped the next set of shows at the studio and we had a planning session for upcoming LoveIsrael.org events and sorting out the calendar for the rest of 2017 and the first half of 2018.
It was a perfect fall day. We really appreciate when we are able to see the fall colors, as Israel does not have many trees which change colors and then lose their leaves.
This morning we left for the airport at 4:00 am. Baruch had a short trip back to Israel (he has made it safely) and I am currently at the airport in Munich, Germany, awaiting a long flight to Chicago. I appreciate the opportunity to visit our parents when I can.
I was just looking over the schedule for our upcoming Conference. Here is the first 2 events to take place on Friday night:
7:00 pm – 7:30pm Praise and Worship (Provided by the Seed of Abraham Fellowship Worship Team)
7:30 pm – 8:15pm Session I: Expectations of the Messiah (Text: TBA)
Throughout the conference the SOAF Worship Team will lead us in a time of praise and worship. Everyone appreciates their participation. The first session will kick us off with a study of the expectations of the Messiah. I do hope you will be able to join us. I’ll share the next session the next time I have internet access!
Pictures from Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion airport. Upper left picture is from our gate announcing our flight to Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Upper right is “Theodore Herzl” and the bottom picture is “David Ben Gurion.”
Yesterday we flew to Cluj. Last night we had a meeting with a couple who head up a missions organization here. Our hope is to develop relationships with leaders who will use our teaching videos will be used by more and more organizations.
As I write this, we are at the studio and Baruch is taping the next set of videos on the book of John. Some people have written to us questioning why the latest video on John is three months old. Please realize that we must produce these programs well in advance of their broadcast date. We are simply three months ahead in production. We release the weekly video on our internet platforms to coincide with the broadcast of that same video which is shown on the various television networks. So do not think that we have not produced any videos for three months.
This week we are sending out our October newsletter. If you aren’t signed up to receive our newsletters, please go to LoveIsrael.org. At the bottom of the home page, you can subscribe. You will receive an email which you need to confirm in order to be put on the list.
Finally, I’d like to encourage you to “Like” our LoveIsrael.org Facebook page and subscribe to our “LoveIsrael.org” Youtube channel. Thank you!
My name tag from the LoveIsrael.org conference a few years ago.
Tomorrow Baruch and I travel to Romania, where he will be taping the next 8 lessons from the book of John. We will also have some important meetings there. This is a very short trip (2 nights). I will be traveling to the States from there, ahead of Baruch, to spend some time with our aging parents and other relatives. Baruch will go back to Israel to teach and to tape a Hebrew program.
We would appreciate your prayers as we travel, prepare for the Conference, and as we have meetings and Baruch has other speaking engagements prior to the Conference.
The Conference will be here soon. We are excited to meet those of you who are coming. Make sure to come up to me and introduce yourself! It is nice to put the names and faces together.
If you have not signed up yet, you will want to. Even if you don’t register, we’d love to have you come. We like to have people register so that we can have a conference packet and name tag prepared for you.
If you’ve been to a LoveIsrael.org Conference, leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!
A beautiful flower from my walk today!
The Parashat HaShavuah this week is Beresheet. It is the first reading from the book of Genesis. In Hebrew, the book of Genesis is called “Beresheet”. If you are not currently following along with Baruch’s weekly study on the book of Genesis, this would be a great time to start!
Just head over to one of our various internet platforms such as Youtube, Vimeo, Roku, etc. Some people have written to me that they have invited a group of friends to begin the study with them!

Today, tomorrow and the next day are confusing to some people. Here is a very brief explanation.
Today was Hoshana Rabbah, the last day of Sukkot. It is not a Yom Tov (High Day) but does have some rituals of it’s own. From a rabbinical standpoint, it is the day when the verdict that was issued on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is finalized.
Today, during the course of the Hoshana Rabbah morning services, all the Torah scrolls are taken out of the Ark and are held by people standing around the bimah (Torah reading table). The congregation then makes seven circuits around the bimah (instead of the one circuit done the other days of Sukkot) while reciting the Hoshaanot prayers, with the Four Kinds in hand. At the conclusion of the Hoshaanot we take a bundle of five willows (available for a nominal fee at most synagogues), and with it we strike the ground five times, symbolizing the “tempering of the five measures of harshness.”
Beginning tonight is Shemini Atzeret. In Hebrew, the Eighth Day Assembly. We read about this in: Leviticus 23:36; Numbers 29:35; Nehemiah 8:18; 2 Chronicles 7:9.
Outside of Israel, Shemini Atzeret is a 2-day holiday and on that second day Simchat Torah is observed. This recognizes the start of reading the Torah from Genesis 1:1, Parashat Beresheet. Inside of Israel, Shemini Atzeret is a 1-day holiday and Simchat Torah is celebrated on the same day. This is holiday begins tonight and ends tomorrow night.
I encourage you to study the passages above and see how they touch you today.
